In Italy, the very best place to become acquainted with Sicilian cooking and wine is the "trattoria." The trattoria is a small, informal restaurant, often off the beaten path on a small back street or in intimate little squares of the working class quarter.
Antonella's, like the Sicilian trattoria, is much more than just a commercial establishment. It is a way of life of people who really appreciate their food and have come to expect great tasting pizza and pastas. We strive to provide the same variety and quality that make a journey to the kitchens and wine cellars of Italy so exciting.
Owners Giovan and Antonia grew up in the family restaurant business. They established Antonella's in 2002 when they opened their own trattoria on East Kimberly Road in Davenport. After four years of making friends and feeding families there, they relocated their restaurant to West Third Street in downtown Davenport, just a block west of the Adler Theatre and RiverCenter. Many friends and regulars followed them to their new location, and many other new friends discovered them downtown.
Antonella's quality of service and authentic Sicilian-style dishes have continually been recognized and rewarded by their patrons. Over the years, they have been voted "Best Restaurant," "Best Pizza," "Best Business Lunch," and "Best Kept Secret" over and over by the readers of the River Cities' Reader newspaper. The highest honor, through, came on August 24th, 2012, when President Barack Obama visited the restaurant, met with local folks and enjoyed an Ultimate Pasta dish for lunch. We were truly surprised and honored by his visit.
Antonella's - another generation. Our style of cooking will take a little longer to reach your table, but we hope you will notice the difference in freshness and quality.
